I do not belong to the group of people who froth at the mouth upon mere mention of AI, believing that AI will make us all rich and happy. A large percentage of this group are unfortunately grifters.
However, I also do not belong in the group of people who scream that AI is terrible while unknowingly using AI for a lot of the things that they rely on. A large percentage of this group are unfortunately uninformed.
As someone who spent hours upon hours in online conversations and chatrooms with folks who work on the backend of innovative technologies like AI as well as cryptocurrency (see the first two paragraphs for my thoughts on that, too) - I have developed a very nuanced stance on AI. Nuance requires time, energy, and specificity, which painting a broad brushstroke does not. As a result, this page will require a lot of thought and energy - for me to write it, but also for you as the reader. May it inspire a nuanced stance in you, too, on topics that normally evoke reactivity.
