“Unless you enjoy a good murder?”
The sentence jolted Tabitha out of her daydream, back into the nightmare that was her third date of the month.
“Uh yes, good point. Too many ravens spoil the broth, and all that,” she offered.
“Crows.”
He seemed unamused by her disinterest in birds. Which would be understandable if it had been a good date, but so far, she had only been spoken to about birds for a good - nay, terrible - hour, and at this point she was struggling to stay focused.
“Yes, yes, crows! But speaking of crows…”
Tabitha trailed off, hoping that he would somehow take her cue.
He did not take her cue.
